The young Berlin ensemble focuses on the diversity of aesthetic concepts and their manifestations in contemporary music. Its widely acclaimed high level of artistry is not just due to the outstanding talents of the individual musicians, but to their continuous collaboration over the years. The ensemble works in close cooperation with the composers in order to explore new approaches in many different areas which contribute to the further development of music. Since its foundation in 1997 ensemble mosaik was presented at important national and international festivals.
48nord
48nord has an international standing as a formation for experimental electroacoustic music. Thereby Siegfried Rössert (E- and Double Bass, live-electronics, composition) and Ulrich Müller (guitar, live-electronics, composition) consequently fathom the tension field between improvisation and composition. Characteristic is the coaction between the acoustic instruments and their approach to the world of electronical sound-generating and sound-processing.
cie. toula limnaios
The choreographic method and dance aesthetic of cie. toula limnaios strive for a formal imbuement of movement in order to make a personal and emotional core glow. In close collaboration with dance, music, video and light, she works to create pieces that, in a subtle and abstract ways, deal with literary works and concepts. Complex interpretations and the referencing of space and time are never abstract; rather they mirror individuality, pointing beyond the exterior portrait to that which moves us beneath the visible surface.
Herbordt/Mohren
Bernhard Herbordt and Melanie Mohren are graduates of the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies in Giessen. They cooperate to create interdisciplinary spatial and audio installations, radio plays and theatre works in which both operate as directors, authors, producers and sound/video designers. They have received many grants and prizes for their work. soniq performing arts represent their production Von Muecken, Elefanten und der Macht in den Haenden, a collaboration with the composer Hannes Galette Seidl. The world premiere was held in co-production with Theatre Bonn with further performances at Kampnagel (Hamburg). With this production, Herbordt/Mohren were invited to the Meeting International Music Theatre Now (2008) to Berlin.
