Toula Limnaios, born in Greece, grew up in Brussels. After her studies in classical and modern dance, M. Alexander, music and Laban technic she worked as a dancer with Claudio Bernardo and Régine Chopinot and as assistant with Pierre Droulers. Soon she choregraphed her own solos and became after studying at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen with Susanne Linke, Malou Airaudo, Jean Cébron, Lutz Förster and Dominique Mercy a member of the Folkwang Tanzstudio, artistic director Pina Bausch.
Since 1996 she is working as an independent choreographer and created 21 pieces with the music composed by Ralf R. Ollertz. Beside her work as a choreographer, she is dancing live-improvisations with Peter Kowald and Konrad Bauer, with whom she created the Duo Landscapes. Tours and performances has taken her and her company through Belgium, Brazil, Cyprus, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Greece, France, Poland, Spain and Venezuela.
Ralf R. Ollertz, born in 1964, studied composition, electroacoustic music, conducting and piano in Germany and Italy with Nikolaus A. Huber and Salvatore Sciarrino. Since 1996 he is the co-director of the cie.toula limnaios and the theatre HALLE in Berlin. Over the past years he has written not only chamber and orchestra music, but also radio dramas, music for the theater, movies and dance for which he received several international prizes and grants. His opera car crash has been presented and commissioned by the Staatsoper Stuttgart. Until now his work as a composer and conductor has taken him through Europe, South America, Australia, Japan and the USA.
